Muckhart Village from Seamab

Muckhart Community Development Trust

Muckhart’s Local Place Plan and Community Action Plan, includes a project to establish a Development Trust in Muckhart to ‘develop and deliver projects for the wellbeing of the village. ‘

Our plan includes 12 projects and 12 proposals across 6 themes as shown in the LPPCAP Executive Summary with possible priorities including:

  • improving transport options
  • upgrading the playpark
  • additional parking for the village
  • developing active travel routes
  • re-use and upcycling initiatives

The action to set up a Trust received 67% support during the consultation period on the final plan with no objections. As a result, a community meeting was held on Saturday 30th May to explore this further and Pamela Barnes from the Development Trusts Association for Scotland provided information about Trusts and the benefits they can bring. Thanks again to everyone who came along and for everyone’s input and questions. If you missed the meeting and would like to find out more, click here to see Pamela’s presentation: Introduction to Development Trusts May 2026.

We are now considering the next steps which would include setting up a representational Steering Group to consider governance structure, priorities within the plan and funding. If you are potentially interested in coming along to a first Steering Group meeting without any commitment please comment below or email [email protected].

We are keen to ensure that the Steering Group and any subgroups are as representative of our community as possible so please consider getting involved.
