Further to the recent cancelled A823 Road Closure, Scottish Water will be working with PKC to identify an alternative date for the work required on the A823 to / from Glendevon to take place. A Public Meeting to discuss these works has been arranged for Monday 12 March 2018 @ 7:00pm. The meeting will take place in:

MCC has been advised today that the planned closure of the A823, to / from Glendevon, will no longer be going ahead on Monday 5th March.

We can only assume that this decision is due to the large volume of negative local feedback received since the original announcement.

Scottish Water is now planning to hold a ‘local information event’ though, according to the latest information, they still believe that “the closure of the road is likely to be unavoidable”.

MCC will keep you updated, as best we can.

Muckhart Community Plan (MCP)

Housing Working Group

The recently established Housing Working Group is looking for members of our community, who may have an interest in shaping future housing developments within the Muckhart area, to join the group to help determine a set of principles which Muckhart Community Council (MCC) will work with, moving forward.

The following describes the role currently defined for the Working Group:

1. To review and understand the existing policies of Clackmannanshire Council and the Scottish Government which influence housing development in Muckhart, such as:

• The policies in the current Local Development Plan (LDP) on areas such as: affordable housing; layout and design principles; energy efficiency and low carbon development; and development in the countryside
• Relevant Supplementary Guidance on, for example, affordable housing
• National Planning Policy on, for example, rural development

1. To review the principles, as currently detailed in the MCP, taking cognisance of Council policies, National Planning Policies, etc.
2. To prepare a finalised draft of a set of principles for consultation with the Muckhart community
3. MCC to agree a finalised set of principles against which planning applications can be assessed and responses made, for example, to the Main Issues Report (MIR), in relation to housing, the draft LDP, National Planning Policies, future consultations on planning legislation, etc.

Safer Internet Day

Safer Internet Day 2018 will be celebrated globally on Tuesday 6th February with the slogan ‘Create, Connect and Share Respect: a better internet starts with you.’

Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre the celebration sees hundreds of organisations get involved to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.

The UK Safer Internet Centre – a partnership of three leading charities; Childnet, the South West Grid for Learning and the Internet Watch Foundation – provide resources for children, schools and families, and tools for getting involved at www.saferinternet.org.uk.

This is a reminder that the Council’s Budget Consultation closes this week, on Friday 2nd February, if you haven’t already submitted a response.
